appropriate age to wear full-on makeup?
So recently I've noticed a lot of girls, way too young, have been wearing makeup. And not just a little eye shadow, or some lip gloss. I mean full-on mascara, eye liner, foundation, blush, etc...girls as young as 9 years old! Now don't you think it's a bit young? Anyway, please take the poll and tell me your opinion!

Re: appropriate age to wear full-on makeup?
I think it just looks funny on young people. I understand lip gloss, but anything else before 16 just looks kinda trashy to me. Usually girls try to do "grown up" makeup, really exaggerating their features at that age. When they grow up (past 16), they start doing things that are "fun" more, rather than exaggerated (like sparkly eyeshadow, no heavy blush, etc.) That I understand perfectly.

Re: appropriate age to wear full-on makeup?
My mom let me start wearing full on makeup at 13 and I looked ridiculous! I didn't understand how to put it on appropriately, but I learned eventually. It's almost a rite of passage to wear it so badly and learn to properly wear it. I was also a dancer and gymnast since I was 3 so makeup (and skimpy outfits) were just part of my life. I never dressed skanky in daily life though, or wore whore makeup. Now as an adult I hardly wear makeup outside of going out or at work. I voted 13-15.
*I asked my fiance and he said 17 years old.

I'm 13, and if you don't wear full make up to school you are considered weird. I don't usually wear makeup but if I do it is just a bit if eyeliner or eye shadow. People look rediculous when they are caked in make up!
I would say 16, but 15 is fine too

I think it depends I used to very full make up every now and again for special occasions from about the age of 15 but not everyday.

Re: appropriate age to wear full-on makeup?
I think it's a rites of passage thing. When you're in your early teens, you're experimenting with your personality and awareness of your sexuality, and usually, there's a lot of insecurity involved too - all of which results in feeling like you need to wear make-up and really make an effort.
When you get older, you realise most people don't wear the full she-bang, except for getting married, Halloween and galas, only people that have to be in front of the camera everyday wear full make-up because the camera and lights can wash you out.
Most people just stick with a little powder, eyeliner, mascara and some gloss etc

I voted 16+.
I'm 15 but I don't really ever wear make-up, it justs attracts unwanted attention. I mean where I live, some of my friends go out caked in make-up and adult men beep their car horns at them.

Re: appropriate age to wear full-on makeup?
I only have eyeliner and I've not worn that in over a year now. >.< I don't think young girls should wear make-up at all because really, there's no need.
I once had the pleasure of watching a woman on the train slowly turn herself orange with the amount of foundation she was putting on. It was like watching an alien put in a new skin XD Me and Olly just couldn't stop laughing.

Re: appropriate age to wear full-on makeup?
I remember the first time I put eyeliner on haha, I think I was about 15?
But in school I never wore anything other than a bit of powder and mascara, and my age then was 15/16, so I'd probably vote for 16+
I don't really see the need to wear full on makeup at a young age, there's no one to impress?
And what's happened to natural beauty? It's so sad and quite wrong to see girls from my brothers school at the tender age of 13 and 14 wearing more make up than I do on a friday night out! They even wear hair extensions!
So sad.
