I voted 16+ as from 13 up all I wore was pencil eyeliner, anything else looked really odd on my skin as I just wasn't ready for it yet! Now I wear full on makeup but I buy stuff to suit my skin tone which a lot of people don't do and that is why they look orange!

i voted 16+... i only really started wearing make up the past couple of years (im 22 now) i never saw the need when i was younger than 16, i was to busy acting like a little boy and pretending to be a horse with my best friend even now im pretty lazy with make up, most days I wear mascara and if i go on a night out i do the full make up thing. but cant be bothered usually.

as for fake tan.... another thing i do if i can be bothered, i find it doesnt go orange if you use it right! lol. and i buy the cheap st tropez rip off!! haha. plus a bit of a tan helps wobbly bits to look a little less wobbly...

I started putting on make-up at 10....like eyeshadow and lipgloss and blush, and I started wearing eyeliner and mascara at like 11. Mind you, I do know how to put it on, so I don't look like a clown. But there are days I'm just too lazy to put it on, I probably put it on 75% of the time?

But how my mother ever let me wear make-up when I was ten, IDK, I looked horrible. I've seen pictures, it's just plain frightening.

My kind of question! I'm very into make up and consider it an art. I do my friends for special occassions like weddings, parties etc and I used to make up everyone up when I did my Am Dram so I think I'm a bit more open to kids experimenting with it.

I do think it's fine for kids under the age of 13 to experiment with their Mums make up for a bit of fun in their own homes, that's a right of passage. However, going out in it at that age is not appropriate. Children of that age should not make themselves look older, it's asking for trouble. But in the home? Fine, it's a bit of fun.

I voted 13-15 but with conditions. I don't think it's appropriate for kids that age to go to school everyday with a full face of slap but for a special occassion I think it's fine. The only way to learn is to practice and you might aswell get your embarrassing make up mistakes out of the way at this age .

I do think it's important that young girls are told that make up is just a fun thing to enhance your features and there's no real need to cake it on. It should never mask them or hide who they are.

Lastly, they should make sure they realise that they must learn to put in on properly

You said it perfect I have a friend who does know how to do her make-up, but she cakes it on so much her eye-liner down't come off anymore. Yeah...

But in America it's a bit different I would guess.

I completely agree with you Tish & I voted 16+ too. I started wearing a little eyeliner lipstick when I was about 13, but in my day you couldn't wear it for school & earrings & other jewellery weren't allowed too. So I suppose there wasn't as much pressure then.

I'm often told I look younger & I think it's because I don't clart makeup on. I stick to really pale foundation & powder but I love bright lipstick. I am never without it. I don't wear eyeshadow still, unless it is for a special occasion.

I didnt start wearing make-up until I was 15 because I didnt like it but even now I just wear the basics, foundation & mascara. If Im going out somewhere fancy I might wear some eyeliner or eyeshadow but I dont ever do the 'full on' look so Im not really sure of the apropriate age :/ Id say 16 for full on I guess but make-up in general I think its fine for 13 year olds to wear.

I voted 13-15. I do wear makeup and i started wearing it when i was 14 (im now 15) but i only ever used to wear lipgloss and eye liner. Now i tend to wear alot more stuff like huge black eyeliner because i love it haha but i dont like the orange look so i tend to make myself look natural but with makeup on lol (minus the eyeliner!). I only wear eyeliner and mascara for school since they are strict about makeup lol
