Default Crocs Rule! We will miss you Steve!

Quote:
Stephen Robert Irwin (22 February 1962 – 4 September 2006) was an Australian naturalist, wildlife expert and television personality. He was best known for the television program The Crocodile Hunter, an unconventional wildlife documentary series which he hosted with his wife Terri Irwin that was broadcast worldwide. He also owned and operated the Australia Zoo at Beerwah in Queensland with friend William Rollo and his wife. He died while filming a documentary.
Here is a link to more info about it, scroll down to read the details of his death.

I still cant believe it! And I’ve never been so disturbed by a celebrity death, I guess to me he seemed more a friend then a celeb. *shrug* its really sad. Im sure by the end of today or tomorrow Animal Planet will be broadcasting memorial shows. Ill probably watch them all and cry! Smoo and I were both big fans, even though he was a bit over the top personality wise, but that’s what I found so inspiring and endearing about him.

I suppose its like I somehow knew him from watching him and his family and friends on TV. What a shame, its true we have lost one of the worlds greatest wildlife icons. I feel so bad for all his friends, his wife and children.

I was very saddened and very shocked when I heard of Steve`s death this morning aswell. He was a truly compassionate man when it came to animals and I can`t believe he`s gone. He will be sadly missed by millions of fans around the world and his wife will no doubt be devestated. He was larger than life and I hope his work lives on. x

Rest in peace Steve. x You were much loved and admired by many people.

I too am saddened by the death of such a vivid and endearing personalityas Steve. I think that he knew all the risks and if there was a way to go this would have been how he would have wanted it to be. His last fight was won by the animal.

I would never take up diving as I have known several people lose their lives in this way. Some too young to be taken.
RIP Steve Irwin and sympathies to your wife, children & freinds and fans.

I'm also very sad today to hear that Steve's left us. However, he's given everyone a wonderful legacy and is leaving world as a better place than he found it. Any of us saddened by his transition can perhaps take a bit of happiness in remembering that and honor him and his work by being compassionate and helping to conserve our environment and our wildlife.

If I am able to live my days with a fraction of the enthusiasm and joy with which Steve lived his life, I will be pleased.

I also enjoyed watching his shows. He was very brave and daring and gave us an insight into the lifes of these dangerous animals. R.I.P Steve, you led a great life and inspired many of us.

One of the first things to learn before swimming with Stingray in the wild is NEVER swim over the top of them, their tails move with involuntary reflex when they see a shape above them. He really lived his life on the edge, and I do envy a lot of his maritime adventures. I am glad he got to live out so many of his ambitions but I do feel so sorry for his family.
