Bramble
Today my friend Bramble passed away. I found her lying on her side on the shelf in her cage this morning and it seemed like she had been dead for at least a couple of hours. I hope it was peaceful and she didn't suffer. She was about 2.5 years old and had been quite frail recently so it was a shock but not a surprise.
I adopted her on 5th September 2020 so I had almost 2 years with her. From the beginning she was such a tame and confident hamster. I was so lucky to have her and one day I hope I will have another hamster like Bramble.

Sushi, I really am so very sorry to read this. Bramble sounded like such an amazing hamster. My thoughts are with you.

Re: Bramble
I remember when you got Bramble. So sorry for your loss but what a great and very long life Bramble had with you. I remember her clinging to your hand like velcro when she wanted to go home.
Play well at the bridge Bramble.

Re: Bramble
Thank you everyone.
The last photo of her with the nuts was taken last Christmas, when I never expected to have another 8 months with her.
I was talking to my mum about her and we decided she must have died very suddenly. Perhaps from a heart attack or stroke. It looked like she had just stepped out of her coconut hide where I found some half eaten peanuts. I think if she had been in pain during her last hours she would have hidden away but it seems like she might have spent her last few minutes eating which is probably how she would have wanted to go.

That is exactly how i found Clarissa who looked just like Bramble! A quick and sudden death mid activity. Bramble wasn't heading empty pouched to the bridge.

She looks like Bogie. I was hoping Bogie would live that long.

Thank you. Bramble was lucky to live as long as she did. My other dwarf hamster died quite a bit younger.
