Default Run free Pickle

I hope there is a lovely sofa to climb over the rainbow bridge.

Pickle has been through a lot with us - my Mother dying, the whole Pandemic to date, my Father dying. He has always been gentle, if mischievous and a gorgeous big bundle of fur. I thought he would go on forever but some nasty disease got in the way.

He loved climbing the sofa and did it so expertly. Right up until about a month ago. He was 2 years and 2 months.

But he was ready to go.

So sorry for your loss, I hope it’s the biggest, assault course of a sofa there is smothered with treats for little Pickle!

I hope you’re okay, I can’t imagine what you’re going through at the moment, I saw on the other thread you’d said the vet had been insensitive and all I can say for now is don’t let it get to you. They should get in trouble for that but at least for now Pickle is no longer in pain and running free and happy, all the best x

Yes the vet upset me a lot and I have already written to complain. They need to train their vets in sensitivity and compassion. I did have a bad vibe when I heard which vet it would be but you don't get much choice in an emergency.

But dear Pickle is now at the Rainbow Bridge. I had felt ok about him going. He had started to not quite be here recently. If I had left him another couple of days, he would have gone - so I knew he was leaving. But I didn't want him to suffer, so had to help him on his way.

But I am absolutely furious and upset at the Vets.

And thank you, yes you're right I shouldn't let it get to me. Thank goodness for this forum.

Pickle is at peace now and free of pain because he was a very lucky hamster who spent his life with a sensitive and caring human.

Pickle will remember you when he climbs up the back of the sofa at the rainbow bridge and not the vet one who upset the human he loved.

Across the bridge the special rainbow sofa will be there for Pickle to climb up.
Look back across the bridge gorgeous boy and remember the loving home you had where you will always be treasured.
We will miss him here too.

I’m so sorry for your loss and I hope lovely Pickle is having lots of fun at the rainbow bridge. That’s awful about your experience with the vet - they should show support and compassion at such a painful time. Take care of yourself and remember that Pickle had a great life with an owner who really loved and cared for him.

So sorry to hear this news. You will carry Pickle's paw prints on your heart always.

Run free at the bridge, little one.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. There is no greater gift than a peaceful release when you decide that the time has come.
He led a charmed life, treasured and loved. He had everything and more that any hamster could want. We couldn't have asked for a better home for him.
The first picture you sent was him on the sofa so I'm sure there will be plenty huge sofas at the bridge just for Pickle.
Play well at the bridge Pickle and rest easy now in your mama's heart. No wiggling and making it hurt now lad!
