Default Lexi

Lexi passed away this morning , peacefully, with help of the vets. She was starting to take a turn for the worse so we thought it was the right time. I hope there are lots of yummy things on the other side and lots of fun things to do.

This was the hardest decision I have ever had to make. My little princess meant the world to me and I will always have a very special place in my heart for her. Her time with me was absolutely amazing and I hope she knows how much I will always love her.

Tomorrow we are giving her a proper send of... I never knew I could get so emotional and I'm thankful I had the day of.

I love you little Lexi-Lou and always will <3

My boyfriend's friend edited some photos for me today and I thought it was very lovely of him to do so. I asked for blue and green since that was the colour of her first house, her wheel and her food bowl x

So sorry buttons, you did your very best for Lexi, she couldn't have wished for more love & care, you gave her the kindest gift in the end & I'm sure she knew just how very much she was loved.
She was a very beautiful girl & the photos are a lovely memorial for her.

Run free & play well at the bridge Lexi.

Very sorry to hear Lexi is gone buttons, I know you were worried about her recently. Sometimes it`s better to help them rest and not suffer. You made the right decision honey. Her memorial pictures are just lovely. x

Yesterday I cried more than I have in years. I slept for 15 hours I was just so tired and emotionally drained. Today has been a little easier but I don't think I have accepted the fact that she isn't here with me any more. I had to work today so I my partner lay her to rest. I feel like she is at peace now.

The tears and feelings of loss are natural. I`ve been there. Give yourself time and remember the good times. Light a candle and relax. x

I haven't cleaned her cage yet and I really don't want to. I feel like if I put it away then I'm being forced to move on if that makes sense.

I keep looking in automatically as if to go and check on her so I think that isn't helping me accept the fact that she is gone.

I remember all the times she used to wake up at stretch slowly, the digging, how she used to get excited and follow my hands when she was being fed. I just love how cheeky and energetic she was

It does take time buttons, one of mine has been gone several weeks now but I still turn around expecting to see him in his cage, it does get easier as time goes on, we never stop missing them but with time we can enjoy the memories without so much pain from their loss.
Clean the cage when you feel ready, there's no rush, sometimes I feel the need to do it quickly other times it's taken me weeks but you'll know when it feels right.

I'm sorry to hear that. I cleaned her cage today and put it away and I feel more at peace now. I have kept all her toys so I can look at them when I want to take a moment to think about her. Today has been a better day for me
