Default R.I.P Little Coco Pops

Sadly this morning we found our little Coco had passed away in her sleep, she looked so peaceful curled up in a little ball. Bless her!!

As some of you might have read in the Hamster Health Section, she had been suffering with a Respitory Infection which turned to Pneumonia, we'd been treating her with antibiotics and i'd been hand feeding her for the last 10 days in the hope she'd make a recovery but it was obviously too much for her. She was only roughly 12 weeks old and she had only been with us for 7 weeks. Only last night when I was doing her medication she had a little nibble at my finger and I thought then that she might be getting better. She was quite funny when we were feeding her as we'd have her wrapped in a hand towel so she wouldn't get cold and then she'd position herself ready for her food and her milk/honey mixture to be fed to her. I always gave her a kiss before I put her back in her cage as well. I didn't think i'd be this upset but as my partner pointed out, she was still our pet, doesn't matter how big or small they are, you still get attached to them, they are literally part of the family.

We've just laid her to rest underneath the Peach Tree in our garden, it's gets nice and sunny there.

She was a lovely tame little thing and deserved to live so much longer but sadly it was not meant to be. She gave us so much joy in the short time we had her. She will be missed!!

R.I.P Coco Pops, play well at the bridge!!

I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of little Coco. Even though her life was short you tried so hard for her and she was warm, secure and surrounded by love. Her life left a footprint in your hearts and she will not be forgotten. Life is never fair on these little ones taken too soon but they always seem to be trusted to people like you who cherish them so they can live a whole lifetime of love in a short time.
Play well at the bridge little Coco
