Default Sudden Death

I was astonished by the death of one of my Robo's.

Little Paige passed this morning. []

The thing is i have no idea how she died - as you all know dwarfs aren't the hamster i am familiar with i only just got the robo's back in July when they were 8 weeks old.

All three were fine the last couple of nights and are really becoming quite friendly, however just last night only 2 of the robos were up and about, i found Paige in the corner, she was quite firm to touch but upon inspection she wasn't dead but breathing very shallow.

I decided to try giving her some water (as it was 2am and no vet would be open) this seemed to perk her up a bit. We separated her from the other two who are perfectly fine - she seemed a little more comfortable, but this morning when i went to give her some more water she was dead.

[] So Paige leaves us to join Wes and everyone at the bridge....

Ahhhh, so sorry to hear about your loss. She looked like a lovely little hamster and I'm sure you loved her very much. Play happily at the rainbow bridge, Paige.

Really sorry to hear this sad news. I never thought a lot about robos until I got my 2 boys and there are so lovely. They very quickly find a place in our hearts dont they?

Take care x

I'm so sorry to hear about Paige. It could have been anything . I hope the other two are ok - keep an extra special eye on them for the next few days.

Oh Debs I am so sorry. You are a fabulous hammy mummy so be assured this is absolutely nothing you did. Roborovski are so fast with equally fast metabolisms and when they pass over it usually happens very quickly and with no apparent reason. You usually find these are the longest lived of the hamster species - I have had many go well over 3 into 4 years old plus, so fingers crossed for your other little ladies. As Emma says keep an eye on them though I am sure they are fine and be comforted that Wes will look after her and help her find her way around hamster heaven over the Rainbow Bridge. Hugs to you. xxx
