My sweet little hamster, Basil, past away yesterday
We're not sure how old he was was but he'd been her just over a year.
It was quite a shock, he was looking old now but seemed to be good health. He was fine that morning, scuttling around doing his normal early morning business but later that day I found him dead
Some of you may remember the thread from when he first arrived. Two cages of rats had been left at the vets and they rang us so we collected them and bought them home. One cage had four girls and I'd moved them into a clean cage and was just about to throw away the dirty litter when something moved. My first thought was babies but no, there was a poor little hammy at the bottom
We have no idea how long he'd been living with the rats, why the poor guy was there in the first place anyway or how he'd not been eaten!
He was such a sweet hamster though, friendly and didn't bite, and would always come to say hello if he was awake.
It seems so odd without him already
I also want to thank everyone on here that gave me advice when he'd unexpectly arrived in my life, thank you
