Our beautiful, gentle boy Mulligan slipped peacefully away to the bridge on Thursday. He was over two and a half and for the last few days had become increasingly frail. It was his time and it was a waiting game in giving him the chance to decide if he could go alone or needed help. He went comfortably in his own nest in the end.
Mulligan came to us from Gary at Wyngrove and was meant to be a pet for a friend’s little girl however he really endeared himself to me and wiggled his way into my heart and I just could not part with him.
He was beautiful and gentle and a great bit soft bundle of shiny cream fur who was always happy to come out for a snuggle and enjoyed being stroked by everyone. A true ambassador for his species he introduced many little kids to how lovely hamsters were.
He did well in the show ring having a Best in Show and one Certificate of Merit.
It was a privilege to share your life Mulligan and thanks to Gary for letting him come to us at Custard.
You will be so much missed, my shiny satin boy with eyes like liquid pools of black onyx. I’m not sure how we will manage without you but we have to. Fly free sweet boy and swing on the stars. Wait for me because I may be a while but I know you will be first in line for scooping up and snuggles. Love you Mulligan xx
