Murphy (Smurf) 26/2/06 - 23/5/08
He was the sweetest, most intelligent Hamster I have ever owned, a complete joy. He was into everything, always friendly and wanting attention. In the first few months of his life his name was often shortened to Murph, one day it got unintentionally mispronounced as 'Smurf' and from then on if he was spoken to or about he was called that... He adored free run time speeding around on the floor, pretty much having the run of the whole house, he was rarely ever still for a second. He used to follow you around if you went to leave the room, standing at your feet and reaching up to you like a small child wanting to be picked up and cuddled.
He'd been ill for a while, a chest infection that wouldn't clear up despite a course of Baytril, last Friday I found him lying on the floor of his cage, I picked him up and tucked him into my sweatshirt close to my heart, he passed away about 10 minutes later....
He was father to 10 babies, all as sweet and intelligent as him, he became a grandfather the day before he passed away. I'll always miss him xx
Harley 26/2/06 - 29/5/08
Harley was often overshadowed by his more boisterous brother but we loved them both equally. He was more of a walker to Smurf's runner, the original hare and tortoise. He liked nothing more than sitting in his little house on the top platform of his cage, only peering out if a treat was offered. A sweet, trusting boy who never bit anyone in his life. He appeared to be in perfect health for his age, I saw him on Wednesday night and he looked fine. Thursday I went to give him some food and found him gone curled up in his igloo, maybe he wanted to be with his brother over rainbow bridge...
