Default Mimosa and Blondie 5/4/2006 - 27/3/2008

With such a large hamstery death is a fairly common occurance so I rarely post here. However, these two old girls sparked my curiosity as, although from different litters, they were born on the same day and also died on the same day almost 2 years later.

Mimosa was one of the last of my really nice cinnamon line, but sadly stubbonly refused to reproduce. The highlight of her career was Reserve Best in Show Longhaired at the London Champs in 2006.
Here she is with her trophy.

Blondie was from a rather experimental litter from a silver grey and a black banded with unknown background.
The litter produced a strange selection including very dark silvers, doves and Blondie - who predictably was Blonde.
Here she is as a baby.

She had a mixed show career with comments ranging from David Baglins - 'that is a pretty good blonde', to an unnamed less experienced judges comment - ' I don't have a clue what colour that is supposed to be.'

Sorry to hear about these two passing. They looked like lovely girls and obviously touched your heart.
How peculiar about them being born and dying on the same day ...

Rest In Peace little girls

I am sorry to hear of your losses and how strange their paths followed a similar route in life and death. I am sure they will be playing happily at the bridge now. Rest in Peace Mimosa and Blondie
