HE'S GONE....PEPSI
Call me a baby but i am literally in tears trying to type this
I was off to bed and thought i'd lie next to Pepsi's cage before i went, just to be with him in silence. His breathing was getting gradually weaker and after only 5 minutes of lying down next to him it was weaker still...
At 10.58pm he took his last breath and left his pain behind ......
You know, its strange, i only had him in my life for 1 week and this has upset me more than when Sweet & Sour died.
I am off to bed now, head is aching and need to try and calm down.
Thank you to everyone who helped me and for all the support you gave me

Aww Jayne I am so, so sorry. He knew you were there and he waited for you to give him permission to go. He went surrounded by love and his path was gentle. He is free now and playing , renewed in health at the bridge. You did everything you could Jayne and no-one could have done more. It is just so hard to pull them through this. He could not have had a better place to end his short life and I know when the time is right and the pain is less you will make a wonderful mum for a new little one to trust his life to. My thoughts are with you and your OH.
Rest in Peace Pepsi.
A short life but so worthwhile for he touched a heart.

I'm so sorry Jayne. I thank you on Pepsi's behalf for every single thing you did for him in his week with you. Count on it, he appreciated your care and attention much more than he was able to show you. I'm so glad he came home with people as caring as you and OH.
Wet tail is such a serious illness, and he was such a little guy to fight something as big as that. I'm sure he would have stayed with you and had a wonderful time with you if he could have.
He's now out of pain, and will rest peacefully.
Sleep well little Pepsi x

I'm so sorry, Jayne - as the others have said you did everything you could and I believe, like souffle, that he knew you were there and that you loved him. I woke up in the night thinking of him - I think, in his short life, he has touched all of us as well.
RIP little man.

Thank you!
You're right, it was as if he was waiting for the right moment to be with me to go. As much as it hurt me to actually see him take his last breath, i am glad i was with him rather than him go alone.
My OH was pretty upset too, just shows that the wee man touched another heart and a mans at that!!
I know i done everything i could, it just doesnt ease the grief i am feeling right now
RIP Pepsi, run free and healthy and i will think of you always x x

Oh Jane I'm so sorry. At least he came home with you for his last week, he could have been in the back room of the shop with no-one to love him.
RIP Pepsi.

Oh Jayne I've just seen your post, we were all hoping so much that he would pull through, but you did everything you could, it really is such a difficult illness to treat.
I just want to second what Basia said, at least he was with you and not in some pet shop.
