R.I.P Bailey, my sweet little girl.
Sadly my little girl passed away this morning, while I was at school. I found her at lunch, and I still can't believe she's gone. I'm so shocked.
Last night, she wasn't looking too good, I hadn't seen her for a few days as she'd been sleeping a lot. I lifted up the ramp of the gabber rex and she had her ears back, she seemed rather shakey and didn't move too much - she took a sunflower seed, a small piece of dried apple from me, but refused the water bottle so I gave her a damp piece of parsley. I gave her a cuddle, she snuggled in my hand - almost asleep so I put her back in her cage with lots of bedding and toilet paper.
I have no idea what was wrong with her or why she passed, I just hope it was from old age.
I remember so clearly wanting a hamster so bad, I had to beg my dad for months before he finally caved in the night before my birthday. In the petshop, I knew she was "the one" as she stood up on her hind legs against the tank - flashing her little white fluffy tummy. I couldn't have asked for a better ham. She had such a sweet nature and lots of character, loved exploring and handling - even cuddles and sleeping on me when she was in the mood.
First hams are always special aren't they? She's the reason I love hamsters, the reason why I got Benji and Marley. I miss her so bad already.
I loved the way she'd climb onto my hand as soon as I placed it in the cage and sat there expectantly as I "airlifted" her out to play and explore. I miss her being a little monkey, hanging from the bars and being silly trying to climb on top of the wheel before falling off. Always so sweet to friends' and family. She loved her ball, rolling around like a mad ham! I loved the way she greeted me, her big black eyes peeping at me as I went into my room.
I just want to hold her that last time, feel her soft fur, her tiny paws pattering over me, say goodbye - how much i love her and how sorry i am that she's had to go.
Bailey, you were such a great little girl, and I'll always love you. You were my special little girl and I really hope you didn't suffer. I'd do anything to have you here with me again. Have fun at the Bridge my little girl, I'm sure Benji will look after you. Gone, but never ever forgotten. I'll miss you forever, until, I guess one day, we'll meet again. You'll always have a special place in my heart.
Nothing will ever replace my sweet little girl.
Good night, my angel - Bailey - September 2005 - 19th June 2007 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Bailey was such a treasure and her journey to the bridge was peaceful and gentle. I am sure she waited to say bye to you as she knew she had to go. She was loved and treasured and her memory will live on in your heart forever
Rest in Peace Bailey.

I don't think a hamster could have a better life than the way you describe hers. She was dearly loved and spoiled and she lived a good long life and left you quickly and painlessly. there was nothing more you could have given her.
