I could write pages and pages about this little girl but I'll keep it as short as I can.
I adopted Snickers in January 10 and I knew she was special. Always running about, so happy and so tame. From day 1 she was begging for cuddles and play time, a real mummy's girl.
I always called her my litte baby, being my first hamster she will always be my secret favourite.
Then 1 year later in January 11 she was diagnosed with Cushings, the horrible illness that took over her body in just 4 short months. However, for that time she was never sad, still playing and doing hamstery things. Even in her last few days she tried to be happy but I could see it had become too much for her little body to take.
This morning she was sitting in a little ball, chattering her teeth so I went to check on her and she turned on me which she's never even tried to do before. I could tell right then that she was ready to go, she looked so confused like she didn't remember who I was - which was heartbreaking. I made the decision to have her PTS to end her suffering.
She was only 1 year and 7 months old so her life was definately cut short, but she lived that short time so well. I'm so proud of my little baby, she inspired me to live every day to the fullest as you don't know what's going to happen.
She's over the bridge now where nothing else can hurt her, I know I've made the right choice, no matter how hard it was for me.
Play well at the bridge Snickers, Mummy's little angel! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
