Hamster Centrals little mascot passed away yesterday. My sweet little Pichu has gone over the rainbow bridge

He lived a nice long life, I got him in 2005, so Id say thats a pretty ripe old age for a dwarf ham. I knew he was getting pretty old, but he really showed no signs of getting ready to leave this plane. It wasn't even a few days ago I cleaned all their cages. Pichu was alert and bright eyed as ever.

Last night however, I found him curled up in a little ball, in a nest beside his food dish. It looked as though he passed away peacefully and in his sleep, which is all I can hope for when my little hams pass. He will be missed, he bought so much cuteness to mine and Smoos lives and home.

The best Robo ham we ever had. Like Gerald, his memory shall live on in the HC logo.

Oh that first pic is the cutest thing I've ever seen!

I am so sorry for your loss.... I am just so glad his passing was natural and peaceful, and that he wasn't in any pain, and it sounds like you gave him a wonderful life

Awww. So sorry to hear little Pichu has passed away. I hope you find some comfort in knowing that he went painlessly and that you gave him a great life.

Thank you, all my friends for your support. I still feel a bit off since I discovered Pichu had passed on. But I'm alright, and I do take comfort in knowing that he did pass on peacefully. Its weird having that empty cage. Sometime soon, I hope to find another hamster in need and give it a home. Probably a dwarf since thats all I have room for. Ill be looking in my area. It always rewarding to rescue a ham in need.
