A Proper Goodbye.

I haven't been on here much lately, but its given me time to think about things. One of those things was little Smudge monster, i realized i had never given him a proper send off. So here goes,

I remember when I first got you, a tiny ball of golden fluff awaiting for a new home. I knew you were the one for me, I always remember me being so stressed about the taming, but happy at the same time. I don't know why I was ever stressed, you were the tamest hammy there could be.

I loved the way you climbed on my shoulder and sniffed my ears, the perfect companion. You would never let me down on the days that I was ill you would never make a sound, so that I could get some sleep.

Some days I cry and some I smile but I will always know you won't be forgotten, my special baby.

Without you I would of never met all of everyone on HC, and would never of got Smokey, Stella or Rum & Raisin... It kills me to think about just how young you were, and how I could of prevented this terrible ending. I will never forgive myself.

I hope you are having fun up there my special little boy xxxxxxxxxxx

those are beautiful words Mark, i think you were right tp give yourself time to come to terms with things so you could give him a proper send off.
My memorial for Peggy came out in a blubbering mess i think and i expect not much of it made sense, but it did come from the heart all the same.

We will always remember smudge for the happy, adventurous and truely handsome hamster he always was xxx

Aww, mark :'( What you have wrote is lovely and smudge was a wonderful hamster. Never blame yourself for what has happened, you tried to do the best for him and you gave him the best life possible xx

What a lovely tribute to a dear little boy. He was very special and we all loved him here on HC - I'm sure he's very happy up at Rainbow Bridge with all the other hammies, and looking down being proud of you and how you are such a responsible, mature pet owner x

I don't know what to write, i'm not good with words like these....all i can say is i shed many a tear when Smudge left us and even my bf was upset when i told him.. Bless your little heart Smudge you taught us so much.
