thank you so much, everyone, for understanding how it feels. none of my friends in real life understand. they think it's "just a hamster," you know? this forum is so amazing, and so is everyone in it.

No, its not silly or sad to cry for the loss of our beautiful little friends. Me and a few others have also lost hamsters in the last couple of days and personally, I have been sobbing since last night and though I was doing quite well until we got into the vets room and was pretty hysterical for about an hour!!! I have also got a huge amount from the other guys and girls in this forum, it really is a fantastic support network.

As for getting another hamster, I think we all take our own time, there is no right or wrong answer. After losing my gerbil I went about 6 years before I felt ready to get another pet, but now I feel in time that I'd like to adopt a little abandoned hamster who really needs love.

I'm glad you like it here
