Peggy my angel

This is the hardest thing I've ever had to do, I saw it coming but it's still a shock.
Peggy my baby, has spread her wings and passed on to the bridge.
Tonight I cleaned out her cage and made it just how she loved it, I cooked up some porridge with some cod liver oil to make her joints better and I gave her cuddles. She was very shaky and fragile as she has been for the past few weeks.
Not long ago I came to say goodnight and she had slipped away in her sleep, her face was so peaceful and I took a while to stroke her soft fur and tell her my final words.
I'm devastated it's true, but I'm also relieved, she never suffered and she left a graceful old lady.

She popped into life 2 years and 11 months ago now. At 8 weeks old this tiny little angel caught my eye in the pet shop window. She gazed into my eyes and stole my heart instantly. Throughout her life she spread a twinkle of hope, love and happiness. She taught me responsibility, the meaning of my life and what's most important to me.
Even though it hurts and I'll cry a million tears and feel regret. She's worth everything.

Her lifes been long, it's been quite the adventure. But I know for sure, she was happy. That's all that matters to me. I want to remember all those good times and memories we shared. When she snatched those crackers from my hand and won 3rd place at great alne, I was so proud.
Dot and peggy can now be reunited, they can munch up all the tasty treats they always loved, spin on the big wheel in the sky and zoom across endless land without a worried mummy chasing after them.

I made a promise to peggy, one I vow to keep.
Every hamster that enters my life, will have the same happiness and love in their life that she did. Whether their lives be long or short.
I'll never forget peggy and I know she's always with me and watching over me.
She's special, whether she was nipping me or snuggling with me, I'll always cherish those memories.
My precious has finally become the beautiful angel she deserves to be.
Peggy I love you darling, look after all those we've lost up there xxxxxxxx

Peggy had the most amazing life she could of done with you, and she is very grateful for the life you gave her.

I hope you are ok Mel, she had an amazing, long and adventurous life with you and you couldn't of wished for her to go more peacefully
