Austins hamster rescue uk
Has this rescue closed?
Their etsy shop still seems active but the facebook page has vanished.
Such a great service delivering hamsters to their new homes, was planning to adopt from them once I move house.

Re: Austins hamster rescue uk
I noticed that too - quite a long time ago. I could never use them anyway as got blocked for some reason! I tried emailing them. I still don't know why - I'd even donated stuff before!
The Hamster Haven in Cheshire seems to have closed down too.
However - I have adopted my last two from Happy Hamsters who are doing a fantastic job. They do it all over the country and have people running different rescues in different parts of the country. There is one in York that covers the northern region. If you message them they have more hamsters than show on the Facebook page.
They have strict policies though, of needing a certain cage size before they will let you adopt - 100cm for a Syrian and 80cm for a dwarf.

Re: Austins hamster rescue uk
It is my understanding that Austins is busy at the moment with renovations and work and looking after existing rescues and only emergencies. Not sure that they are adopting out. I know the facebook page gets taken down when she is too busy.
Like Serendipity states Happy Hamsters UK has a network throughout the UK and will deliver if you cover costs.

Re: Austins hamster rescue uk
I have just looked at their hamsters for adoption and OMG have seen the most beautiful male syrian.
Have enquired about him and they are going to check with the volunteer who has him whether they are able to transport him to me. Ooooo. So glad I started this thread.

Is he in the South West region? They have a few people who foster for them in this area.

Re: Austins hamster rescue uk
I’ve just had a look and added them via Facebook and oh my goodness so many adorable hamsters. All the best with an adoption flower fairy.
