I don't understand this mentality, surely if you buy one from a pet shop you're confirming that their is a demand for them and the pet shop will just re-stock and the cycle will continue??

Maybe try a rescue centre if you want to save one.

I hope I don't sound mean, I just don't like animals in retail shops and firmly believe in dealing with the roots of the issue rather than fire fighting at the surface

I get that, and the majority of my pets have come from rescue places..... But I am a sucker for a cute little face especially if I'm not happy with where it is!
