Say Hello to Daisy
Well, most of you should know be by now, and most will have heard that my darling Little Mo was pts 3 weeks ago.
I hadnt been looking for a new hamster, it was too soon after Little Mo so I thought - but somehow, through fate I believe, little Daisy has now entered my life.
She's a year old sable banded (I think) girl who had been forgotten about by her young child owners. The mother fed her and watered her but she didnt have time to give her any attention as she had loads of other animals to tend to.
Her cage was the starter kit from argos, and she had been living in there for a year with a wheel much too small for her. Last night I brought her home and kept her in the cage to settle in - I watched her run in the wheel and it was heartbreaking, her back rubbed on the spindle and her face was up in the end pressed against the side of the wheel - she'd fall out after a few seconds as she was just too big.
Well tonight was her big night - I spent today getting Mo's old Multy ready (after talking to Mo again to say its going to be ok) and tonight Daisy moved in.
She had a good explore of every corner of the cage and soon found her wodent wheel - after a slow start she is busy racing away - She loves it It's so nice to see.
I intend to give her a loving, fun home - after the sad start to the first year of her life.
She is very friendly and intersted in anyone who goes up to the cage. I had a little hold of her too and she was very good and very calm - a good start.
Here's some pics - not too good as she's too fast atm, and she hasnt learnt to pose like Little Mo did just yet
The first one shows the cage she came in, and the second is her Multy inherited from Mo.

Re: Say Hello to Daisy
Thanks guys.
I know FM she just couldnt go anywhere in the argos cage, and without a good enough wheel she mustve been so frustrated - no wonder she seemed to craze any attention she could get.
No she doesnt use the litter tray yet, she just sat in it to have a wash and then ate some of the pebbles! But I have put some of her weed on bedding in there and hope she may get the message.
Yeh I think Daisy suits her - I ask the mother what her name was and she said 'err..I think they call her Daisy'... so I thought I'd stick with that

Aw Shazzy she is so beautiful. How awful for her in that tiny cage. Some people are so misinformed. Argos should be ashamed anyway, for selling these things.
She is going to have a fab life with you.

Re: Say Hello to Daisy
Oh she is gorgeous, so pleased you got her, your thread yesterday made me cry. That cage is awful, reminds me of the one Alan came to us in (he was in a student house). Hope she settles in soon, she is such a sweetie and am sure she has Little Mo's seal of approval.
