*takes a bow*
I is back!!!
Lets see how many people remember me from 2 years ago as a part of Thames Valley Rodents. I notice not many of the original members are posting and there is a lot of newbies with pet hams
Hope there is still some breeders about!
Kat and I moved out and went our own ways (we were house sharing but her ex was a pain in the butt and drove us both mad) but never you fear, it took most of a year but Kat and I are best of friends again, poor kat has just had to move house yet again and i have all her hamsters LOL. She has gone down the route of exotics now and keeps mainly snakes, bearded dragons, geckos, spiders and the like.
I went down the fish route
Working for Maidenhead Aquatics, i changed to a new store last year and will probably find a new job this year (sick of the politics!!) and i have lots of fish at home. Until recently i just had Mr Squishy, who people might remember, he won me prizes at Thame show (BEC class) but he turned out to be almost completely infertile!! He did however have to be pts short of his 6th birthday with a whopping tumour that appeared in a week
My heart broke but i had said my goodbies to him and we shared a kitkat in the vets surgery (much to other clients disgust haha i didnt even take a cage with me, he was in my pocket!).
I recently got a new really nice black male, he was always going to be a pet, wanted a black male to contrast and be nothing like Mr Squishy but Kat had a gorgeous LH Silver Grey female (Woggle) who desperately needed to have a first litter before it was too late and so we went for it. Turned out the my new boy (of several names 'little pinky' 'stud muffin' and 'sooty') also carries rust and more! The litter is of 9 babies, 3 Hetrozygous Silver Grey (2 male, 1 female and one male is LH), 5 Silver Blacks (2 male, 3 female and 3 are LH) and a Chocolate! (male and LH).
Due to kat moving to a smaller house and me gaining space, i now have all her hams though Woggle and the Chocolate baby will be going back and a few will definately stay with me, cant rehome roly poly the fat ass cream and brian the crazy raving loon of a dutch black/sable dom spot boy and maybe others. (got a transexual mink, always been female, stood and mated 3 times and then at over a year old... suddenly grew a pair of balls!!
) and another satin mink girly and Anchovy and Squadge the sable roans who will have forever homes.
I also have a 2:1 trio of Persian Jirds and a 1:2:4 group of Gerbils and two Chinese hamsters, im trying to convince them they do want to make babies, cant believe how hard it is! Normal female hates males! Male dom spot carrying BEW is so desperate and rough he isnt getting anywhere! Might have to get a second pair and go down the route of two pairs instead of the one!
My other half and i have opened a new shop called Dunstable Aquatics in the last 3 weeks (yes.... stressed is putting it mildly) and we will also be selling pets
personally bred by moi for the most part! and other local breeders! We have 1700 square foot shop floor and 1500 square foot floor space upstairs with nothing! Also a seperate large room with lighting, heating, windows and electrics and water across the room which is allllll mine!
So to let you all know!! Is back!!
