Lurker finally saying hi
Hey, everyone! I don't know if I ever did an intro post with my previous hamsters. I've had a winter white named Gidget and just lost my Syrian named Waffles. I had Gidget for almost exactly 2.5 years and Waffles was about to be 3.
Gidget was very social, she'd come out as soon as she heard her name and she loved to watch you but didn't like to be held or pet. Waffles was just more friendly overall, she'd crawl right into my hand for snuggles and let me trim her fluff and nails without a single issue.
When I felt like I was ready for another hamster I wanted another Syrian because of how amazing my experience was with Waffles. I scouted a few Petcos and Petsmarts in the area and I've found the workers there to be so nice and patient with me each time. Especially when I get to talk with a person that works with the hamsters a lot. They just gush over them. A lovely worker showed me 5 of their hamsters and two pulled at my heart, but one looked too similar to Waffles and I wasn't ready for that. So welcome Hershey to the world. SHe was labeled as a female Fancy Bear.
I attached two photos of her plus one of the past babies.

Very cool photos! Hopefully all goes well with your new hamster, Hershey, so just post something if you need help! So sorry to hear about Waffles, I recently lost a hamster as well so I totally understand what you're going through. Good luck with your new hammy!
