Default Custom cage sizes

Hey guys! I'm new here. I'm thinking about building a 2 floored hamster cage out of wood and and glass and sizes will be 40*70 cm for area and height of the first floor would be 45-50cm and 2nd will be around 30 cm in height do you think that would be a good cage?

That's really cool that you are building your own cage! The measurements are great, and are pretty similar to my hamster's enclosure size. I'm sure that your hamster will enjoy having such a big cage; they'll have lots of fun! Keep in mind that hamsters will chew on wood, however. Good luck building it!

Do you mean the hamster wouldn't penetrate through the cage? Sorry I'm just a bit confused, but it is possible that 3-4 cm is good, you could also use plexiglass as windows in the enclosure (there is another HC post that verifies that this is safe for hamsters). Here's the link to that conversation, you might find it useful because it talks about building cages: Plexiglass vs glass, your opinion?. I'm just a bit confused on what you're asking but hopefully this helps! Let me know it was something else you were confused about.
