Missing Hamster
I am so worried my hamster escaped from its ball three nights ago.
I have searched my flat everywhere and can not find him. I cannot hear him either.
The only places I feel he could of gone is a gap down into the central heating pipes which are all in concrete. I can't get into it to see anything.
There is also a gap down through the sink in the bathroom but he would of had to have climbed up onto a ledge which was tiled.
I've left food out and his cage the last couple of night and nothing.
I have got a humane trap for tonight.
I am so worried he is dying somewhere and I feel pretty awful.

Re: Missing Hamster
So sorry to hear that, I hope he turns out soon! I don’t have much to offer in terms of advice however, it is so hard to find them. I hope he is safe and you’re not blaming yourself! Good luck and fingers crossed.

Re: Missing Hamster
Did your hamster come back?
What an awful situation. I can't even imagine how you must feel if he hasn't come back yet.
Maybe you could attach a piece of cheese to a long bendy piece of wire and feed it down the gap of the central heating pipes so your hamster could follow the smell.
Is it a male or female?
The male hamster of a collegue of mine disappeared when her daughter was young and she searched for days, couldn't find him anywhere. She bought a very similar looking hamster pretending to her daughter that she had found him but it was a female. The same night the missing male hamster reappeared from who knows where. The scent of the female had tempted him out.
Maybe you could have a hamster of the opposite sex and same species staying over for a night?
I think if i were in the same situation i would buy a hamster at the petshop for that purpose and then rehome her or him to a good home.
