Introducing Arroz
Hello everyone, its been a long time since I have posted on here but I have really missed the community! So I thought I would introduce my newest hammy <3. Her name is Arroz which mean rice in spanish my mom named her due to her white fur, and she is the first female hamster I have ever had the privilege of adopting and I have had her for 3 months now <3

With her being the first female hamster that I have ever had she is so different from guy hamsters, she is so crazy and full of energy. Always trying to escape of anywhere she is and she's so smart! I feel like I always have to keep one eye open with her around lol. But she is a joy to have around also heres a pic of her with baby yoda lol

one thing that does bother me though is that although she doesn't have bars in her cage but she chews on the metal part of her water bottle and im not sure why ive never experienced this with any of my previous hamsters and I dont know how to get her to stop because I dont want her to mess up her teeth so tips on that would also be appreciated. thank you !

Re: Introducing Arroz
What a lovely fluffy little beauty! Welcome to Hamster Central Arroz. Hoping to see a lot more of you.
You could give her a water bowl as well. Maybe she'd prefer that. Does she have a Whimzee chew?

Re: Introducing Arroz
Aww Arroz is a little beauty, congrats on getting your first girl! They do tend to be a lot more active than the boys.
As Ria said a water bowl would be the best solution to the bottle chewing, as well as possibly damaging her teeth they can ingest excess water when they chew the spout which isn’t good for them.
Just a small shallow bowl, nothing too big or deep.

Re: Introducing Arroz
Arroz is simply gorgeous! I don't know why it is said that hamsters aren't very clever. I've had two females (one over the bridge now) and they have both been smart. Looking forward to hearing more about her adventures.
