Help!!!!

I recently got my very first hamster a little over a week ago. I left him alone for the week to ya know, get used to his new home and sniff the place out and he was finally warming up to me. But yesterday I let him go into his ball so I could clean his cage and everything was fine but then when I put him back in he started getting on his wheel for the first time. I thought it was cool until I noticed that he is obsessed with it. He sleeps in it and even uses the restroom in it. Also, the platform that helps him get to the wheel is like his new restroom spot. And another thing, even though its only been a day or so since he started this, he seems more skittish and he's afraid of me again even though just yesterday he was warming up to me. I'm so new at this hamster thing someone please help me!!

It sounds like your ham has been stressed by the cage clean, it is important not to clean too much or too often, just spot clean any pee you can find for the first few weeks at least then just do partial cage cleans as & when needed every few weeks leaving the nest & hoard alone as much as possible.
He'll probably be scent marking & peeing in various different places now to make it more like home again.
Don't worry too much, give him a few days to settle & he'll get over it.
Does he have a large house with no base on deep substrate to nest in?

I wouldn't use a hamster ball for your ham, they can be dangerous & stressful, for cage cleaning time put your ham in a carrier with plenty of substrate so he'll be safe while you're busy, for out of cage time use a safe ham proof playpen, play bin or other safe escape proof area & supervise at all times.
