Smile Taking off his tubes???

Hi guys, I have recently took Berties tubes off his cage as he was peeing, pooing, sleeping and eating in there. Have i done the right thing?? I dont want him thinking that's his toilet area!!

Yes! It's good you've removed those as it is very unhealthy for the hamster. Once he's more used to his new home, and establishes his nest and toilet areas, you can place them back, preferably after washing it with a water/vinegar solution to remove previous scents of the urine.

Yes much better without the tubes Tubes as floor toys are better, in shorter runs (eg a kitchen roll inner tube slit down the side so it expands).
