'Ello :-)
Hi all.
Just got my first hamster today.
So I'm Kevin, 19, from Scotland.
Not sure what else to say... Oh, I don't have a name for my hamster yet, so ideas are welcome!
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum. I'm sure he will soon 'grow' a name.
Looking forward to hearing all about him. What colour is he?
We have an Irn Bru and we call him Bru for short LOL.

You're right, Fluffy is a great name. Our long haired cream is called that!! We also call him Fluffy Maldoon or just recently Fluffyander Meerkat.....he seems to spend more time on his rear legs than on all fours!! lol
Just noticed you're in Canada, so you might not get my reference with regards to the Meerkat, however i'm sure others do, look on www.comparethemeerkat.com if you want to see what i'm referring to!!
Apologies if you do know what i'm going on about!! lol

Re: 'Ello :-)
Hey again.
Well, I've decided to call her Holly, as she was a Christmas present.
She's grey and white (head and bottom grey, middle white), not sure what breed she is as I don't know so much about them.
She's decided to make her bed in the wheel in the cage... damn messy. Lol.
I read somewhere that they shouldn't gnaw on the wire of the cage, is that right? Holly does it all the time...
Thanks,
KJ

Re: 'Ello :-)
hi and welcome to HC. It's totally normal for hamsters to knaw the wires of their cage, they do it incesantly!
It sounds like Holly is a syrian, light gray banded hamster
