Hey guys and girls (and hamsters),

what's up everyone?

I'm new here, looking forward to learning new ways to make my hamster's life better, improve my skills and hopefully make some friends too!

I currently have 2 hamsters, they're both Russian dwarfs, one is dark grey and the other is fawn. Both of them are male. The fawn coloured little dude is called Penwell and the dark grey coloured guy is called Brave. I bought them both just a few days ago; I bought Brave for my fiancé and Penwell for myself. I was hoping having 2 would make sure they didn't get lonely but they didn't get along too well, seeing as Penwell is extremely confident and hyperactive whereas Brave is very shy and a bit anxious. They had a bit of a fight (I think Penwell was trying to assert dominance) so I bought Brave his own cage, which hopefully help him to come out of his shell a bit more and become more confident

I'm glad you did the responsible thing and separated your hams when they fought. I just recently had to separate my pair of roborovski dwarfs due to them falling out. A lot of hamsters do better when they are alone, I'm sure yours are happier now

I'd love to see pics of your babies!

You did the right thing separating them if they weren't getting well together. As Crystal told you, they are very territorial and lonely creatures, so they will be fine without company!

Looking forward to hear more about them and to see some photos too!
