I highly doubt anyone remembers me, as I was fairly new here when I went on a hiatus but... I'm back
I was a member on another hamster forum, but I decided that after two years, I'd try something new as standards weren't progressing like I hoped they would. Seeing as this is a European (right?) forum, I have my hopes that the minimums here are bigger... I hope so, anyway. I didn't have any bad Experiences on the other forum for the most part, I just think a change was well needed and I hope to enjoy my time here as much as I enjoyed my time over there :thumbsup:
Anyways, enough of my rambling. Let me introduce myself!
Hi, hello - I'm Emma, a bioveterinary student born and raised in North Dublin City, Ireland. I'm in my first year of the course of my dreams, pursuing my honours degree in the area I'm passionate about and loving every second of it! I'm currently slave to 2 cats, a dog, 3 guineas and a rabbit in addition of course to my three hamkiddos, Sochi my winter white hybrid, and Mishka and Moki my Russian Campbell brothers. Diet & Nutrition aswell as animal welfare and behaviour are huge interests of mine, and I strive to provide my pets with the highest quality diet possible for me and the most stimulating cages that I can.
When I first joined here, which was a while ago, I also had two other Syrians - Chester & Jada - in addition to my little duprasi, Mogli. Unfortunately I regret to inform those of you who may remember me, that I lost Jada from reproductive cancer back in May, Mogli to old age two weeks later, and my gorgeous boy Chester to old age last month (he was 28 months old).
But alas, on a happier note, let me introduce you to my three dwarfies who I currently share my life and loose my sleep to!
First off is Moki, my 14 month old male black platinum Russian Campbell brother of Mishka.He was adopted in December 2014 along with his brother due to apparent "aggression" that I have never once experienced with them - they're the sweetest little hams on the planet! Some people ::rolls eyes::
And my handsome boy, Mishka, a 14 month old opal platinum Russian Campbell, brother of Moki.
And lastly, my little princess, Miss Sochi - a 8 month old Mandarin pearl winter white hybrid. She's more often than not confused with a Russian Campbell due to her colour, but she is mostly winter white and her facial features are a dead give away of that. She was rescued back in March of this year when I found her at the pet store with injured eyes. She's quickly bounced back though, and is seriously the most laid back little dwarfie I've ever owned!
So Yupp, that's my little ham-family. Hope I enjoy my time here and see you all around :waves:
