Re: Rescued Robo from a life of abuse.
DrKMcK, Shabah is Arabic for what could be basically described as 'a ghostly being'; I thought it fitting for it's nocturnal activities, things that go bump in the night and such. I didn't fancy a name linked to it's past, it just wouldn't sit well with me.
The Wheel's not arrived yet, I'd ordered it Friday so fingers crossed it'll be tomorrow. Yesterday I was looking to get one on my travels but the local stores just had mesh wheels for the size I was after so Shabah and I are stuck waiting for the postman.

Re: Rescued Robo from a life of abuse.
Aw, glad to read of Shabah getting a fresh start. He's going g to be very happy. Even if he is elusive! and good luck sexing him/her! Some species are very easy to tell apart. The boys are pretty, um, obvious if you know what I mean but I struggle with robos. I sort of took it on faith that Hector was a boy when I took him home and really it doesn't make a difference to me. Even with weekly "jam jar health checks" it's only occasionally I think "oh right, you definitely are a boy". He's just too dang speedy!

Only one photo today, it was quite dark when he came out and so I fitted some layers of scuffed plastic to defuse the camera flash so it wouldn't be too dramatic.. It was just a quick glow rather than a typical flash but still made Shabah a bit jumpy so I won't push it.

Re: Rescued Robo from a life of abuse.
I have been told that Shabah's last name was Harry, so for now Shabah will be known as a male until the time comes that I can check to be sure.
We received the Wheel today, been sat watching and Shabah got up and just ran past it without so much as a sniff. I hope it'll get used soon as I have no idea how long it's been since Shabah was able to have a good run. I wonder though if he was on the wheel at the time it was struck..
