Smile Hello from Scotland!

Hello all I have just joined, in the hopes to find a hamster breeder in central Scotland.
A little about me, I had a beautiful male golden Syrian hamster I named him elvis, he had the best personality he died aged 3.
I then had a beautiful long haired white and ginger male hamster named aslan as he looked like he had a mane! I got him from a local pet shop chain and he died about 7 months later.
I then got a beautiful long haired pied Syrian hamster who I named button. He wasn't quite black and white, more like grey and white. I got him from a local pet shop and within a day he had given birth to 6 gorgeous babies. Obviously female! I had to go back to the pet shop chain they apologised and they loaned me 2 extra cages. I split the males and females and fell in love with one of her babies who was very long haired, and chocolate in colour with red eyes. I named him nismo. The rest I rehomed.
I had to trim his hair a lot as it trailed along the floor behind him. Button died at age 2 and nismo died 2 years later.
I wouldn't consider myself knowledgeable. My "speciality" is fish, I breed live bearers but to my 5 year old daughter, that's not a real pet
And that's how I found myself here! Due to being on a fish forum and having years of dealing with the horrendous quality of the pet shop chain, I'd rather not go there so have been trying unsuccessfully to find a breeder near me.
I have already attempted Babyboos hamstery but the web page is unavailable and the email address fails. Help! I am after winter whites or a tortie Syrian.
If anyone can help then please get in touch, I will definitely be hanging around.
Sorry for the essay and again hello to all!

Thankyou. I am looking at the rotastak cages, since they slot together with tunnels and can be massive! It's been a few years since I've had them. I went in and seen the dwarves today and they are the cutest. My little one was like "the stripy one! I want the stripy one!" So she likes them. Only because it came up to the glass to see her!

I'd suggest considering maybe not rotastak - you'll find most on this forum prefer to avoid modular cages. Rotastak can work well as part of something if you don't end up with a syrian so big the tubes're dangerous but a lot of us find a single big space easier for the ham and more practical for us when it comes to caging

Its good your daughter likes them

Oh I see. It's the dwarf one we are after not Syrian. I always had the rotastak cages, they used to always make the highest compartment the toilet! So it was easy to clean. I do find that since they like being active, the different levels give them something to do. I will need to rethink that then.
If my 4ft fish tank didn't crack(happened whilst moving, absolutely devastating) I would have used that with sand and sawdust! Will keep looking. Any recommendations?

Even for dwarf hams rotastak isn't always the best I'm afraid Its a real shame your fish tank cracked while moving, they can be brilliant cages otherwise
How big a cage are you looking at? Most cages on zooplus are highly reccomended Hamster Cages | great selection at zooplus

I have the Ferplast Kios for my dwarf hamster. Seems a good sturdy cage and the ham loves it.

I was looking at this

But now thinking of this?

But the gap is putting my off especially for Houdini dwarf hamsters!

The medium zoozone'd be great, you can always mesh over the bars to make the gaps smaller - lots of people do
