Hi all.
I haven't been on here since our second hamster died. Our Russian dwarf Ivy died in the May and then a couple our months later our Syrian Cleo was put to sleep at the vets
So for two months we had an empty zoozone1, a hamster heaven and a cupboard full of bedding and toys. We thought "there must be loads of hamsters out there who need homes!"
So 3 weeks ago we went back to the same rehoming place (a lovely lady who runs a small hamster rescue). She had a litter of 4 robo's who were all living separately after fighting, and about 10 syrians - ranging from 6 - 18 months old! So we brought home a robo called Pedro and a Syrian called Oscar
I will add pics soon!
They are both very nervous!! Pedro is scared of his own shadow and he runs away whenever we approach the cage!
Oscar is gradually getting braver. We can hand feed him treats and my boyfriend has managed to pick him up and hold him twice. I'm really struggling though because I have such small hands and Oscar is quite big and jumpy. I've been reading tips about sitting in the bath with him which I'll try soon. The only problem - he doesn't wake up until after 11pm and we have to get up for work at 6am, so are usually going to bed at that time! I've tried waking him up with treat - he just takes them out my hand and goes back to bed with it! lol!!
