Another newbie :)
Hi everyone,
My name is Alex (girl!!), I am 21 and live in London. I do not currently have any hamsters, but am planning to get one on Friday 27th July, so very excited! In the past I have owned Syrians, Chinese and Russians as well as lots of other pets, but university has meant no animals for 3 years... now I am free!
I have found this forum invaluable in helping me to plan my new hamster's arrival, so thank you to you all.

I am going to get a Syrian, I would prefer a black/black and white/grey/cream coloured, but not too fussy really  Not fussy about the gender either, unless anyone has recommendations?

I am planning to get a Syrian, I'm not sure yet of the colouring or gender though...
Sandti, I'd have loved a hamster at uni and think it would make a great pet there, but unfortunately at my uni we had to live in halls for all three years; they don't allow pets there and they would *definitely* have known - boo!! Oh well, now I can get one at last
