Default Hi all!

Hi everyone,

Names Nicole, living in Ireland. Finishing up an MA in Film Studies in University College Cork and about to start a full time job as a Technical Support Associate in Amazon.

Now enough about me...! I used to have a gorgeous little hamster named Hammy (so original I know) when I was about 10 and he was the perfect pet. I was distraught when he died!

Last weekend I bought two gorgeous little hammies but there were some initial problems so one was swiftly exchanged!

I now have two dwarf hammies in separate cages so they can get used to each other and I plan on joining the cages later on this week.

I'm looking forward to getting to know people here and I already feel grateful that when I have a question that there'll be very knowledgeable and friendly folk on here to give me a hand!

Take care

Welcome to the forum
If I were you I wouldn't bother joining the cages. If they have been kept separate they are best left that way as you do risk fighting. Modular or joined cages seldom work with dwarfies as they get territorial over their own space.

Hi and welcome

I have to agree with Souffle with regards to the reintroductions, it can be tricky to get right and probably wont work in joined cages as its too easy for them to claim bits as their own and become teritorial. They will be perfectly happy on their own, I have 2 lone dwarfs and both were rescues for pairings that didnt work out. They are much happier now they have their own space.

Thanks for the advice! I'll keep them both separate so.
