Thanks for all the lovely welcomes guys

Went hamster shopping today and managed to find a few things mentioned on here such as Harry Hamster and the Chinchilla sand, P@H wanted to sell me dust as that was all they had even though i told them it wasnt safe for hamsters

Got the Gabber Rex on the way from Ebay as well as a play pen and a huge selection of toys so i think all i need now is the hamster

Have spoken to Babyboo on here who is going to arrange some pics of the hammys that need a home so fingers crossed

Have also read half of my hamster book today, arent study days great

Here is what i came home with today

Wow - you are on a shopping spree aren't you! I think your ball is the same as a couple we have. Does it come with a stand so that it can be used as a wheel as well? If so, one of our hamsters currently has that as her wheel in a Gabber Rex, so until you get your wodent wheel or whatever you decide, that is also a good option. That's the good thing about the Gabbers, plenty of space. You look really well prepared, and your new hamster looks like he/she is going to have a life of luxury.

Your hamsters were beautiful. I love the photo peering into the camera - the little guys are so inquisitive aren't they?

Hi Spuds Mum, yes it comes with a stand and a sticker

Will still have to get vitamins and whatever babyboo reccomends but i think im 99% there now, its good fun going hamster shopping, cant wait to get the cage now and begin to get it all set up in preperation for a hammy coming

Yes the hamsters were lovely, there were really tame and loved getting out to play, you just get so attached to them though

I know what you mean, but the good times outweigh the bad and in the end the good memories do the same.
I dont think anyone who doesnt really know about hamsters can understand that the relationship is a two way one - I know my babies care for me and caring for them gives me so much pleasure. People don't believe me when I tell them that my Spud will sit on my knee watching TV with me while I stroke him (just like a cat) and think I am a bit odd because I talk about all of their different personalities etc. But hey! at least here I talk to other people as odd as I am

Wow, you will have one very spoilt hamster. I can see quite a few things we have here too.... I saw a lorry arrive at P@H and the driver opened up the sides to unload, I was craning my neck and hubby asked what I was doing. He just doesn't understand that pet shops/lorries are like aladdins cave to me!
I think hamsters make wonderful pets, such a lot of character from one small creature and sooo cute too. I think it is a shame that many people regard them as just for children as I think they make great pets for all ages. Having said that most of my friends think I am mad/sad or just missing my children as a 40-somthing with a growing collection of hamsters!

Can I come and live in your hamster home! You have exactly the things we would (and have!!!!!!!!!) bought for our hammies. It is so exciting getting a new friend and you just want them to stay with us forever. Your hammies were so beautiful and you have their memories locked away to treasure now so looking forward to meeting your new hammie soon.
