Thanks, pophammy! I created a profile but I couldn't upload my pics. I got the following message:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 9088 bytes) in /var/www/html/php/classes/ImageSubmission.class on line 135

My photos were taken with a digital camera. The file sizes range from 884 KB to 912 KB. They are JPEG images. I reduced the file sizes in Adobe PhotoShop but it still didn't work. Any tips?

I've never used the movie feature on my digital camera but now I'm inspired to learn how to use it. Nothing is cuter than a hammie flick!

Also, thanks babyboos, minicooper106600, and racinghamster. I'm honored to be the newest member.

I registered my daughter but I still need to fill out the parental consent form and fax it in so her account can be activated. She is anxious to meet everyone and share Poppy's hamster antics.

Sounds like your pics are a bit large for the forum. You can either resize them using a photo program or maybe send them by e-mail to snuggleham who will put them on for you I'm sure.

Yes, they were likely to large You will need to resize them down quite a bit. Try sizing them down to something under 600 pixels if you can and then it should work. If not, you could send the images to my email at [email protected] and I will resize for you and send them back for you to upload.

Thanks, guys. I didn't even think I could reduce the file sizes in my photo program. I figured out how to do that and now they're posted. Is it possible to add more than two photos?

Not in your profile Poppycorn though you can win extra photo slots by introducing more people to HC or submitting articles and winning competitions.
You can put photos in your posts though by uploading pics to a host such as photobucket and linking the URL to the forum. If you put the picture will show in the post otherwise it will be a link. It is best to resize to max 400pixels width before you upload them as they fit better on the forum and also upload quickly. Photobucket is free and easy!

Thanks for the info, souffle!

How do I add Poppy's picture under my user name? Is that what's called an avatar? I went into Account Settings and tried to add one but it didn't work right.

Hey Poppycorn I made an avatar for you based on one your uploaded photos to your profile! If you would rather have something different you can upload an avatar by going your "my hamster central" and clicking on "Change my account settings"

Scroll down and you will see where you can upload a picture. The image cant be any larger then 80x80 pixels so you will have to resize.
