Hello, etc!
Hello ^_^ My name is Tru, and I'm a 26-something Brit living in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. I'm a student and study video games design, and own a hamster, of course!
I had various pets when I was younger, but a few years ago I had some Chinese Dwarf hamsters. After they passed away, I decided to get a Syrian again, as the Dwarf ones were a bit too small for me to handle and kept escaping quite easily.
I adopted my new Syrian, Milo, in February. He's grown quite big since then, so recently I bought him a new cage, which is twice the size of his current one, as he seemed really really bored with his old one. He's hand tame, really friendly and energetic. Since he's been in his new cage though, he's been teeth chattering a lot, which he never used to do, so I'm not sure if he's happy or just not used to the new cage yet :/
Anyway, I'm glad to be here so I can learn more about hamster behaviour!

Welcome to the forum.
Sounds like Milo may be a little protective of his new cage. Maybe you could get him to climb into a box or ball and take him away from it for play time?

I'm sure Milo just loves his new cage which is probably why hes chattering! You could try playing with him in the bathtub, a playpen or a box

Thanks for the welcome guys!
I have Milo out every day and when he wakes up tonight, I'll see how he's still chattering and get him out again ^_^
I'll have to get some photos too, haha.
