LOL!! I laughed too at his expression after the nip.
I think you're going to have a lot of fun with this cute little hamster.
Great photos and looking forward to see more.

So, I've noticed Maximus likes to pee in his wheel (plastikoted) and poop all around his wheel on top of the platform. It does not bother me much to clean it up and he may do as he please,
but I was curious if anyone had any luck gently hinting their hamster to poop elsewhere by placing their poop in the sandbath (or somewhere else)?

Today I was blessed with another early Maximus sighting.
When I came in to talk to him I assumed he was sleeping in the hideout underneath his wheel, as he has been keeping pretty much to that corner apart from food and water dish travels.
Today as I was rusting around a bit he poked his little snout out from the multichamber house (which I intended him to make his main stay in).
I believe he's taken to both, so he's well spoiled for housing.
I decided to offer him a little piece of walnut to see how far we may have come since last, and it didn't take that much of hesitation to accept the treat.
A small happydance for that. He doesn't seem fearful of hands which will really help.

Pretty much straight after he took a little stroll across the habitat and ended up in his other flat, taking a very odd little kip in the very corner.
I'm surprised to see him out and about as much as this,
but I have a sneaking suspicion this fellow will keep surprising me for a long time.

I just can't get enough of this little fellow.
He definitely knows his name, and he is very curious to sounds. He almost makes me nervous when he's following my hand around as if he wants to nip, but he just seems confident and curious.
He has little to no hesitation to take treats off my fingers and makes every effort to come towards me when I'm in the room. It's such a difference from how I started out with Mocha.
Today was a gentle little stroke over his back while he was munching, but he's not a fan yet. All in good time.

Maximus makes me laugh. This little fellow is just a joy to be around.
Today he came out early all sleepy eyed
and decided to devour a couple of flowers,
all casual and relaxed. After doing so, he very deliberately (it seemed)
walked up to where I was watching him from, stood up on his hind legs
and gave me 3 x snoot. Nose to nose.
Then very cooly strolled around for more treats. I am blown away by his confidence.

One of his favorite spots to sit seems to be a wooden block candleholder
that I hide some stuff in, I adore how his fluffy butt just sits in there perfectly.
(also how pissed he can manage to look)

A little while later I was still hanging out with him,
he interacted with my fingers quite confidently,
and even let me stroke him ever so gently over his back.
Little steps, but it feels so major. Happy hamster, happy me.
