Bramble
This is Bramble my new Russian dwarf hybrid. I picked her up from a rescue today. She's about 6 months old. She was surrendered as an unwanted pet but the rescue says she's easy to handle and not afraid of anything. When I put her in her cage she seemed really confident, exploring everything, even eating out in the open. She didn't even react when I accidentally dropped something. I took a quick photo but will leave her to settle in now:

Re: Bramble
Thank you Luna and cypher.
I had intended to leave her completely alone for a few days, but Bramble had other ideas. She came right up to the bars as I was standing by the cage so I fed her some treats through the bars, which she ate on the spot. I think she may be an experienced treat beggar!

Re: Bramble
Bramble is lovely! What a lucky little hamster girl.
My dwarf Edwina was unafraid of humans from the day i got her and climbed on my hand in the pet shop. On day one at home she climbed up my arm muttering then settled in rightaway. Never needed any kind of taming and i feel so lucky to have met a naturally friendly and sociable hamster like her.
Maybe your Bramble is like that too. I'd open the front door of her cage and see what happens. She may climb straight onto your hand or just have a good sniff of you.

I just tried that and she climbed right onto my hand and ate a mealworm there. I'm so happy to have got such a tame hamster.

She was from GBH Rescue in Beckenham. They have a website and a Facebook group.

Re: Bramble
Bramble is doing so well. She sits on my hand (and refuses to get off) and climbs up my arms. I think I'm more nervous handling her than she is (because she's much smaller and more delicate than I expected). I think soon she might enjoy some time in the run as she's so active and I can sit in there with her to build up (my own) confidence.
