Re: Bramble
What a lovely photo of Bramble! She is super cute and what a little poser for the camera.

Re: Bramble
I've had Bramble two months today. Her cage had a small reshuffle yesterday. She was acting really unsettled, climbing the bars and trying to squeeze through them. I don't know if it's because winter is coming, but she suddenly felt need to create a huge burrow and hoard lots of food, but the megazorb I was using wasn't holding her tunnels up. I switched her onto Fitch and she's already so much happier. I can hear her scrabbling around under the substrate now.
I have never known an animal to be so laid back. Literally nothing scares or alarms her. The gerbils are jumpy from the fireworks tonight but Bramble isn't bothered as usual.

Aww, she's a lovely girl and her habitat looks great with lots to keep her busy.

Re: Bramble
Some great pics of Bramble. I like how you have set up her cage.

Re: Bramble
Bramble is turning grey from the tail upwards. Not sure if this is a winter change or just a general colour change.

Re: Bramble
Today we're celebrating Bramble's first birthday! I don't know her actual date of birth but she is about 1 now. I chose today because by coincidence her and all my gerbils were born around this time of year, and 1st March is the actual birthday of 2 of my gerbils. The gerbils are all turning 2. So we're having a big rodent birthday party to celebrate all of them.
Bramble got a hay tunnel for her birthday, but her favourite thing was her birthday dinner of gammarus shrimp.
Bramble lives in an Alaska nowadays. It's not a big increase in floor space but the extra height means she has a half shelf for extra enrichment, and I can put her wheel above her house so freeing up space elsewhere.
Here she is having difficulty eating a shrimp cookie: Bramble with a shrimp cookie - YouTube (I've since adjusted that bendy bridge as I noticed watching the video that it has gaps where she could have got her legs caught).

Re: Bramble
Happy Birthday Bramble!
Love the video of the little cutie tackling the shrimp cookie nearly as big as herself!
