Re: Edwina
It can be amazing how much & how quickly they change colour, I do think her colouring is lovely at every stage, she does it in style!

Haha, she certainly does.
Is she likely to darken again after the winter? Not that it matters, i'm just curious.
Edwina is unfazed by things hamsters usually object to like humans, she was tame from day one, hand cream doesn't bother her, she'll still climb on my hand. I can vacuum the room even around her cage and she'll keep running on her wheel.

Re: Edwina
You’ll just have to wait & see if she changes back, it’s probably unlikely, I think I’ve only seen one ham do the whole winter white colour change then back again on here whereas changing colour & getting lighter over time is very common in hybrids.
It’s lovely that she’s so unfazed by things, I’ve had a few like that too.

Re: Edwina
It's really interesting to see how much her colour has changed. That light grey does look really pretty.

Re: Edwina
I just can't get over how much Edwina's appearance has changed. She must be a year old now.
Her eyes look huge with her light grey fur and she has finally grown into her ears.
Edwina, take that as a compliment. You are my beautiful girlie amongst the boys.

Re: Edwina
Edwina has become a bit of a recluse of lately and i have no idea why.
She used to be out and about during the day but spends a lot of time underground now.
Some nights she doesn't seem to get up at all and others she runs a marathon on her wheel.
I really miss her and have done so for a while.
Not sure what to do really and wonder if something has upset her. I've even moved her lively and at times a bit noisy neighbour Clarissa to a different part of the room in case her antics annoyed her.
She came out tonight and run around for a bit but soon disappeared into my cardigan.

Re: Edwina
Sometimes it’s hard to know why they change behaviour, if you can’t think of anything that might have upset her it’s probably not that as I think you’d know, is she eating & drinking normally?
It could just be the weather & time of year, I find even though the house is warm they seem to sense the cold & stay in their houses more sometimes.
She looks adorable in that photo, hope it’s nothing to worry about & she’s back to her normal behaviour soon.

Yes, she's eating and drinking as per normal and looks fine. My OH sees her running in her wheel early morning and she surfaces to forage but stays underground a lot more than she used to.
I haven't been able to get her favourite millet for some time, maybe she's miffed about that.
