Re: Meet Willow
She loved the playpen So much so I extended it on one side to make an L shape. I did some handling and moved her between the playpen and her tank.

Re: Meet Willow
Aw! she looks so tiny zooming around in there Glad she enjoyed it.
You could try adding some sort of digging box maybe, doesn't really have to be deep but I have found they like something to have a dig around in rather than just racing around.
They do make a big play pen those panels don't they! I only used about half mine & it's still plenty big enough!

Re: Meet Willow
She had her toilet/sand bath, but didn't go in there and dig.
I got another bendy tunnel for her tank. I think she will like it. If it moves while she is in it I will have to find a way to stop it or remove it.

Re: Meet Willow
Awww Willow looks like she is having lots of fun in there I like your idea of making the playpen an L-shape, makes it a little bit different I have those long bendy tubes as well my guys seem to love running around in them, or sitting and eating/grooming

Re: Meet Willow
Her cage setup is looking very nice! I'm sure she's enjoying it too I'm sure she'll warm up to her sandbath, it's a favorite of Russians

Re: Meet Willow
Thank you. I may have the new tunnel in the playpen rather than the cage, depending on how Willow gets on with it.
She has been through, but I'm not sure it she likes it there. I quite like the idea of having to under the substrate but she may nest, eat and pee in it.
I had the weigh scales in the playpen tonight. 35g. That's a really big gain, but she was not still for long so it may not be accurate.

Re: Meet Willow
She sounds like she is coming along nicely I put a piece of food on the scales and then zero them to discount the food. That tends to let Newt sit still long enough for me to read them as he eats the bit of food. Although he has been known to have his bum hanging over the edge of the scales when he does it and then the reading changes when he moves onto them properly. So I always put the food in the middle now!

Re: Meet Willow
The last few days Willow has been getting up really late and not wanting to climb on my hand, use her wheel much or explore. I was worried she was ill but today she was back to her lively self. I was so relieved. Soon after waking up, she was on her wheel and exploring. I gave her a few seed treats, which she took and ate.
She climbed onto my hand once she had eaten and sat still while I lifted her out. She had a cuddle and strokes and a bit of climbing/walking on me, before having a quick explore of her playpen.
I did a weigh in and she is now 37g. She can climb out of her transport/weighing box now, so I put the scales in the playpen. She soon climbs on, but doesn't stay on long enough. Millet helped to keep her sitting on the scales long enough.
More cuddles and a bit of practice picking her up around her middle and also tipping her on her back, which went ok. Then back into the playpen for a while.
She does have her nervous moments sometimes, but will soon go back to whatever she was doing.

Re: Meet Willow
It sounds like taming is going ok and that you're creating a beautiful bond! I'm glad for you both.
The new additions to her cage look nice
