Re: Meet Willow
Photo shoot for the hamster of the month didn’t go well, but I did get a weigh in done. 56 grams.

Re: Meet Willow
Unfortunately today I have found a lump near one of Willow’s back legs, kind of on her tummy. Vet visit is going to be booked as soon as possible.

Re: Meet Willow
I am SO sorry to hear that Willow has a lump; I will be hoping that all goes well for her at the vet's appointment and it is nothing serious.

Re: Meet Willow
Thank you all for the best wishes.
The vet saw Willow this morning. She took fluid from the lump. It is being sent away for analysis. Willow was not happy being scuffed by the vet or when having the fluid taken from the lump.
The lump is quite large and effects Willow’s walking, running and climbing. She still uses her wheel and climbs, so I don’t think it hurts. It is just in the way.
Baytril to be given twice a day for fourteen days. Results should be back before the fourteen days are up. They will call me once they know the results.
Surgery could be done if needed.
£18.13 charge so far.
Once home Willow slept in the carry cage, while I totally emptied her tank. I was advised to by the vet to remove as much food/hoards as possible, so when offered food with the baytril added it would get eaten instead of Willow eating from her hoard instead.
Baby food has the tiny drop of baytril added and been eaten.
She had a cuddle earlier and a pumpkin seed.

Re: Meet Willow
Sounds fairly positive hopefully! Maybe it's a cyst. Glad it doesn't seem to be bothering her too much.

Re: Meet Willow
I am glad that Willow's vet visit went as well as can be expected under the circumstances. I am also glad that she ate her baytril willingly with some yummy baby food. I will be keeping my fingers crossed that the test results come back with the best news possible, too. Good luck with giving her meds for the remainder of the days; I will be thinking of you and your sweet Willow and wishing you all the very best. I'm sure the cuddle earlier must have done wonders for both of you.

Re: Meet Willow
So far so good then CMB. So relieved for you and Willow. It is so much easier when the meds are accepted mixed with baby food. Don't forget that porridge can do as an alternative to prevent boredom.
