Willow is also working on playpen escape plans too. Climbing out has so far failed. Climbing onto toys and jumping has also failed.
I have to watch her extra closely. I won’t be surprised if she suceeds eventually.

Thank you. For substrate (cage base covering) I use Fitch. I got the 20kg bale, but you can get less if you don’t have much space for storing it. It is a paper based substrate and is good for digging tunnels. Fitch has a website that I order from.
For nesting material I have some strips of paper (sold in Pets at home) and shredded unscented toilet paper.
In one corner I have a glass jar with Tiny Friends Farm bathing sand in it. Willow pees in the back and rolls/bathes in the front. It means I have to change the Fitch less often.

Willow sounds like she is planning a great, big adventure! It sounds like you are definitely kept on your toes with all her mischief, lol!!! It's great that the boys are helping her get out of her shell more now; hopefully, they aren't sharing too many escape tricks though.

The big adventure could be any time now. She has been filling her pouches extra full and carrying it about and running on her wheel before emptying them somewhere.

Well Willow does enjoy free ranging, even though she isn’t meant to be. She has mastered the art of playing on my bed nicely. Then all of a sudden (to quick to catch) climbing down between the bed and a set of draws (the space is just the right size for climbing without falling) and exploring.
She doesn’t chew and will easily come to me to be picked up.
Christmas chew toys and tubes have been added and Willow is enjoying them. She makes noise with them and tries to climb them.
