Re: Meet Artie
Thank you cypher and coco I haven't noticed an improvement yet but this is only his 3rd morning on the metacam so it's still early days and the first morning I think most of it ended up on my hand! It's a two person job trying to givr him the metacam, me holding him and hamddad trying to syringe the medicine in his mouth He's very squirmy and gets quite stressed about it. Artie won't eat porridge or baby food Coco, he's anti hooman food
I was a little sad to see that he hadn't went to get his mealworms last night but he had got quite a few after his medicine yesterday morning so he just got some sunflower seeds this morning after it instead and I'm hoping tonight he will go and collect them, fingers crossed

Re: Meet Artie
I can just picture the struggle to get Artie to take his meds! Hope it gets a bit easier for you all & that you see some signs of improvement soon, even if you don't see any obvious change it should relieve any pain he might be feeling.
Maybe he was maxed out on mealies after his meds but I can't see Artie leaving them for long.

Re: Meet Artie
Lovely that he was well behaved at the vets, hopefully the metacam makes things easier for him. The syringing sounds like a bit of a task! He might get more used to it, fingers crossed.

Re: Meet Artie
Bless you Artie, for being so well behaved at the vet, deep down you know your mum would only take you there if she's worried. I'm giving you a Gold Star Artie and sending you lots of love. Metcam sounds yuk, but, they do say that the horrible ones always do you good.

Re: Meet Artie
Thank you cypher, mangoandmimi and Lizzy
Artie is doing well, he's less than enthusiastic about his medicine but he lets me hold him but the second the syringe is close to his mouth he starts turning his head in 50 different directions I have noticed an improvement in his legs though, he's still shakey but they're not as stiff and he's been a little livelier recently, he was even having a jog on his wheel this morning while he waited for his after medicine treats

Aw the second photo! Poor boy, I'm sure he knows deep down the medicine is for his own good Great that you've seen an improvement in his legs though.

Re: Meet Artie
Aww poor Artie really doesn't like those meds does he! I'm glad there's been an improvement with his legs though & I'm sure he's enjoying the extra treats after the meds

Re: Meet Artie
Poor Artie, he doesn't look happy about his meds - but it good that you have noticed an improvement and he is a lot more livelier.
Treats do help the medicine go down.

Re: Meet Artie
Aww, poor, darling Artie! I'm so sorry that he is having problems with his legs and hasn't been as lively as before. I'm glad that all went well at the vet office and you were able to get some pain meds for your dear marshmallow. I can just imagine how much of a struggle determined Artie is creating when taking his meds through a syringe. I'm so sorry for the three of you, but I'm glad that the meds are seeming to do the trick and Artie is becoming less stiff in his legs and is now able to jog in his wheel, too. I'm sure the extra treats after the meds helps to make the whole process easier. Hopefully, Artie will soon realize that he is getting his meds regardless since it is helping him and he decides to not fight it anymore. Although he doesn't look happy in his latest pics, he sure is as cutie pie. Wishing you, hamdad, and Artie an easier time, and hoping that your precious, Froggie prince charming will continue to get better and be with you both for a very, VERY long time. Huge hugs to you and hamdad; tons of cuddles to Artie and the rest of the hamily.
