Ariana went back to the store after finding out that a respiratory infection could kill the other hamsters, not to mention Ariana. I didn't realize how serious it was. Vet didn't stress it to me so I'd know the consequences. A future fungal infection & Demodex mites after I just lost Koala was just too much. NEVER AGAIN will I buy a Russian hamster, I'm heart broken

Out of all the vets the pet store happens to use the same vet that I took Ariana to. So they will be able to treat her. I'm glad about that.

I'm really sorry this has ended sadly for you CB, I can imagine how upset you must be.
It's good to know Ariana will be getting the treatment she needs from the vet, hopefully her problems will be resolved without you having the worry & stress.

Enjoy the hams you have, take comfort from them & try to forget the sad things that have happened recently.

Thank you Cypher & FF, I am very sad. I don't know why this is happening? Every Russian I've ever owned had tremendous health problems. I got attached to Ariana The thing is that her future owners are going to buy a hamster with a probable fungus infection. Also, may have weakened immune system cause of the mites.
Maybe they will be able to take her to the vet when needed. Hopefully.

I'm completely miserable

Trying to make a request from the vet to see if they will waive all of Ariana's office visit fees & I just pay for meds, then I'll bring her home? They are closed today so vet should call me tomorrow?

Would be really great if they make a deal with me? Then I could take care of her.

I think you need to have a good sit down and think if that's really what is best for you and your other hams or not. That's only something you can answer and I know you've gotten attached to Ariana but you've found this whole situation very stressful and you have the other hams to think of too. So I think if it was me in your situation I'd think into the future about how I'd feel if Ariana got sick again and how I'd cope. I think cypher is right, enjoy the hams you have.

Thanks velma, I'm sure you both are right. I bought her so i wouldn't have to think about Cinnamon & Koala

My plan didn't work out, now I'm back to missing all 3 of them. Praying to be happy with the four that I do have & that they'd all be healthy.

Oh CB, I really feel for you. Going through that kind of stress so soon after losing 2 would've only added to your anxiety. Like Cypher says, take comfort in the hams you have now.

I decided not to bring her home as I'm not meant to look after sick animals if I can help it especially since it feels like history repeating itself from Koala.

The vet makes it look like nothing, but I know that's not the case. I'd worry about her mites or respiratory infection could hurt the other hamsters. So you are all right, I'm not going to take care of her. I hope she goes to the right home.
