Re: Hello Poe!
Eggboxes we have stacks of, Cc will have to learn to share cheese cube I have always wanted, we have a ton of glass jars for sand with the amount of coffee we go through and I'm currently letting bf decide which is his least favourite mug so Poe can have it
I was thinking of getting an upright wheel as well as a saucer, the p@h versions of the silent spinner aren't too expensive and since they aren't in my bedroom anymore (heart breaking for me I have to say) he can make as much noise as he likes!
Tunnels-wise I have an entire combi 1 packed full of tubes from the HH and the Laura at mums house, I was going to bring them down and do with them kind of the same thing I've done with Cc's tuff tube, like a permanent little underground network?
This is him this morning, he decided soft carefresh and cosy tissue wasn't for him, plain shavings it is! Maybe he needs time to adjust to the good life.

Re: Hello Poe!
Just one point over tubes. My daughter did exactly that with her unused HH tubes when she tried to make life more interesting for her robo Loki. Loki loved the buried tubes so much they had to be removed as she did everything down there. Now it is Fitch and cardboard tubes and leave the little one to her own digging.

Re: Hello Poe!
Yeah I was planning to leave it until he settled in a nest somewhere so he wouldn't be tempted to live in them, like you would if you were using the tubes the way they're intended. It's bugging me having so many of them sitting there unused so I'll give it a go maybe in a few weeks and keep an eye out for him loving them too much!

Re: Hello Poe!
No tissue?! He's definitely been in adoption too long lol! He may change his mind in time.
I tend to agree with Coco about the tubes, they do seem best left to do their own digging & if you start burying tubes with the base of the HH not being very big it doesn't leave much space for that as well as the possible problem of sleeping, eating, hoarding & peeing in an underground tube! I'd stick to cardboard.
I do like the flying saucers (& so do my hams!) but I also think it's a good idea to have the upright wheel too, he's going to be so spoilt he won't know himself!

Re: Hello Poe!
I'm going to be talked out of using the tubes I feel. Just going to let it happen. They can rot under my mums stairs forever I just hate wasting things!!!
Just remembered I should have an 8" wheel under the stairs too though if I can find the clip that attaches to the bars so I'm not all unhappy
p@h have the 6.5" silent wheel as a "medium" the eejits.

Re: Hello Poe!
Could do actually! Yes, that'll do, my hoarding will have been justified if I get even a little bit of use out of them
Poe must have sensed someone talking about him because I heard his water bottle going, (either it's the loudest bottle in the world or he just really knows how to get the best noise out of it) and when I went to investigate he finished having a wash then came right over to say hello and even licked my finger!!! I offered to get him some more toilet roll for his tipi but he declined and went into his igloo instead. What a chilled out little guy :3
At this point in Cc and I's aquaintence she had just screamed at my sister

Re: Hello Poe!
Aw he sounds so cute!
I use plastic tubes in the play pen sometimes, having exactly the same problem, left over tubes from cages that I would never use for the intended purpose but every time I go to throw them out I keeping they must have some use somewhere!

Re: Hello Poe!
I really really needed to hoover the house, the landlord was coming over and there was hemp everywhere and I was a bit worried about freaking out the wee man because our vacuum is incredibly loud. I started at the other end of the house and worked my way towards the ham room so it wasn't a sudden noise but when I got to the room he was up, hamming about, couldn't care less. I gave the room a thorough clean, even banged his cage accidentally once, he didn't even twitch!
I've been underestimating his level of chill, it's off the charts.
